The X3 is FTP’s flagship cartridge, with potency over 80% and effectiveness like you wouldn’t believe. They’ve been trying to make this puppy happen for the better part of a year, but they kept running into one pesky little snag: Chemistry. (What a jerk, amirite?)
Turns out the CBD molecule is really big and likes to crystallize at concentrations over 60%, and there isn’t a dang thing you can do about it. Any attempts to make a cartridge stronger than their game-changing X2 ended up with wax that would turn into CBD rock candy, get stuck halfway up the cartridge, refuse to flow down into the intake holes, and make us really sad.
But fear not! For we found a way.
Now you can try to use the X3 cartridge with a regular battery, but be warned – the cartridge has to be kept upright at all times or the wax will get stuck, and it might get stuck anyway. You should probably be ready to bust out a hair dryer to melt the wax down a bit just in case.

Step 1: Turn on the battery, if it’s not on already. Click the button 5 times really fast (one-two-three-four-five, within 1 second).
Step 2: Ensure the battery is set to the correct voltage setting – we recommend starting with white and going up from there. To cycle voltages, triple-tap the button (one-two-three, within 1 second): White – Blue – Green – Red – reset (White)
Step 3: Screw the cartridge onto the battery threads. Make sure the airflow holes are open (this is important).
Step 4: If the wax is solid – looks like tiny rock candy crystals, doesn’t flow at all – do not panic.
Warm it up gently with a hair dryer or by letting it sit in a warm place for a few minutes to get it flowing again. This is some gnarly-thick wax, it’s just the nature of the beast.
Step 5: It’s vaping time! Hold down the button while inhaling through the cartridge tip. If this is your first X3, start with small puffs. Again…gnarly-thick wax. Treat it with respect.
Step 6 (optional): Once you’re done, turn off the battery by repeating step 1.
How It’s Made
Master Batch Extraction Using Supercritical CO₂The delicate extraction process to get FTP’s amazing CBD begins at their suppliers’ certified GMP facilities. Supercritical CO₂ is pumped through the hemp plant material to collect the first step of extraction, the dark master batch – this is the foundation from which all their products are born. The master batch is 100% full-spectrum, and lab tested at every level before moving into the next steps of distillation and winterization. The master batch extract at this level is very dark, thick and nutrient dense.
Grade 1 Distillation – Dark RawUsed to make tinctures, salve, and softgels. This dark raw is packed full of natural plant nutrients, and the CBD content increases due to grade 1 distillation while still keeping THC content below 0.3%. It takes over 2 grams of master batch raw to make just 1 gram of dark raw.
Grade 2 Distillation – X1 Blonde RawFurther condenses the extract, filtering most dark plant material to create a vapeable wax with higher CBD content and legal THC levels. Used in the X1 cartridges. It takes almost 2 grams of dark raw to make 1 gram of blonde raw.
Grade 3 Distillation – X2 Amber RawFurther distillation creates amber raw for X2 cartridges. Highly potent (75% CBD) and prone to crystallization. Requires about 2.5 grams of X1 blonde to make 1 gram of X2 amber raw.
Grade 4 Distillation – X3 Gold RawThe highest refinement level, pushing CBD over 80% while preserving plant nutrients and removing THC to nondetectable levels. This highly crystallized concentrate is what powers the X3 and XN cartridges. X3 tends to crystallize, while the XN’s CBN content keeps it flowing more easily. It takes about 1.5 grams of X2 amber to make 1 gram of X3 gold.
